Preparing Against Natural Disasters (Earthquake, Landslide, etc.) at Your Home.

 Japanese(日本語(にほんご))

Please prepare against natural disasters (earthquake, landslide. etc). The details are as follows.

Preparations to hold out for three days at your home.

If there is a large earthquake, it is possible that services such as electricity, water supply, and supply of goods may stop. Please prepare beforehand:
・drinking water for a minimum of three days
・food
・flashlights
・portable toilets

Secure furniture and household appliances to a wall.

If there is a large earthquake, you may get injured by falling furniture and household appliances. Please buy some tools at a hardware shop (DIY shop) and attach your furniture and appliances to a wall.

It is important to know your neighbors.

If you find people who need help after an earthquake, please rescue them with the help of your neighbors. Please take part in a “JICHIKAI” (neighborhood association) in preparation for natural disasters. It is the best way to know your neighbors.

Escape to an evacuation center if your home is in danger of collapsing.

If there is any possibility that your home is damaged from a landslide or is about to collapse, please escape to a “HINANJO” (an evacuation center).

There are 14 evacuation centers in Minoh City and depending on your area, your evacuation center may be different. Generally, elementary schools are used as evacuation centers. (The exceptions are Maple Hall instead of Kita Elementary School, and Dai Ni Junior High School instead of Kayano Kita Elementary) If staying in your home is safe, please help rescuing other people.

Check the BOUSAI MAP(Disaster Zone Map)

Please carefully check the Minoh City BOUSAI MAP (Disaster Zone Map) to identify the evacuation centers and where dangerous landslides may occur.

(If there is any danger that your house may collapse in a landslide, be sure to go to an evacuation center before the rain gets strong. If your house is in no danger of a landslide, do not unnecessarily go outside, you should stay inside.)
