Marriage and Divorce
Notification of Marriage / Divorce
When you get married or divorced, please notify the embassy of your country. If you and your partner are both foreigners and have already registered your marriage or divorce in your own country, you are not required to notify the City Office. But if you get married or divorced in Japan, you need to get a certificate issued from your embassy.
If your name changes, it is necessary to revise your residence card. For details, please contact the Osaka Regional Immigration Bureau.
