Event Contents

"Minoh Eight Stone Altars (Hatten Ishikura) Walk Trial" will be held again this year! Set in the beautiful mountains of Minoh, this is a walking tour* where you can visit Stone Altars (Ishikura) from the Kamakura period.

On the day, Minoh volunteer tourist guides will explain the history and nature surrounding each of the stone altars. You can select a course that suits you (the "Two Stone Altar Course" goes to two stone altars, and the "Four Stone Altar Course" goes to four altars).

The Minoh volunteer tourist guides will give a detailed lecture on the history and nature of each Stone Altar (Ishikura) and the oldest town stone marker in Japan (a stone placed every 109 meters along the path to a temple or a shrine pilgrimage route). At this event, you can feel the start of spring by enjoying early spring breeze, blooming plants and new buds, while also experiencing the history of Minoh as engraved in the Stone Altars (Hatten Ishikura).
