そしてニュージーランドでの生活も好きで、両国を行ったり来たりできれば理想です。ウェリントンは歩きやすい街並みで、最近ではカフェやクラフトビールのお店も増えて、とてもいい街です。

以前同じJETプログラムで2年間東京の学校でALTとして働きました。とてもいい経験になりましたが、主に英語を使った仕事で、緊張もあり、なかなか日本語を話す機会がありませんでした。今回は積極的に日本語を話してみて、前向きに頑張りたいと思っています。箕面市は人と人の繋がりが強く感じられ、自然いっぱいで、これからの暮らしを楽しみにしてます。街で見かけた時は声をかけてくれたら嬉しいです！ナ・ミヒ・ヌイ（マオリ語の「どうぞよろしくお願いします」）！

My name is Trées and I'm from New Zealand. As of November 2021 I am working at the Minoh City Office Cultural and International Affairs Division as a Jet Programme CIR (Coordinator for International Relations). I was born in Auckland and grew up in Wellington, both in the North Island of New Zealand.

I love drawing, and from a young age watched lots of Japanese anime, which led me to study the Japanese language. I still watch lots of anime, but overall love the lifestyle of Japan (including Japan's nature, sightseeing, pop music, shopping, etc). While travelling in Japan, I have been saved countless times by the omotenashi (hospitality) of Japanese people. I also find Japanese art supplies the best for drawing!

On the other hand, I think living in New Zealand is also great and ideally I'd love to come and go between both countries. In the past few years Wellington has been a nice place to live as it's easy to walk around and has lots of trendy cafes and craft beer bars.

Previously I have lived in Tokyo for two years as an English teacher (ALT) on the same JET Programme. It was a great experience, but due to being in an English-speaking work environment and my own nervousness, I didn't end up having many chances to speak Japanese. This time I want to try my best to stay positive and actively speak Japanese.

Minoh has a great sense of community and lots of nature, so I'm really looking forward to living here. If you see me walking around, I'd love to talk to you!
