自己紹介

初めまして! 

アルフィーと申します。イギリス出身です。イングランドの中央部にあるバーミンガム市で生まれ育ちました。2025年8月から、JETプログラムで、箕面市の国際交流員(CIR）として働くことを大変嬉しく思っています！主に、箕面市の国際交流の促進と強化を支援する役割を務めます。具体的には、今年30周年を迎えたニュージーランドのハット市との国際協力都市関係を支援する業務も含まれます！

小さい頃からほかの文化や言語に強く興味をもってきました。その中でも日本は、日本の映画、ビデオゲーム、テクノロジー、料理などが世界中で人気を博しており、イギリスでも例外ではありません。大学で日本学を専攻した私は、神戸大学での交換留学の機会を得ることができました。卒業後は、日本と中国で英会話の先生として生活し、イギリスで企業や団体と協力して、母国で日本の文化やビジネスを促進する活動に携わってきました。イギリスと日本は長い歴史と豊かな交流関係があると思っていて、この絆を深めるお手伝いをすることが私の長年の夢です！

ハイキング、旅行、そして日本の探検が大好きな私にとって、箕面はまさに理想の街です。都市と自然の景観が絶妙に調和し、私の大好きな日本の地域の関西の真ん中に位置しています！ここに来て間もないですが街の素晴らしいコミュニティから温かい歓迎を受け、すでに箕面が第二の故郷になっていると感じています！日本一の秋の景色から、美味しいクラフトビールまで、この街の魅力のすべてを体験するのが楽しみです!

箕面の多くの観光スポットを散策している私を見かけるかもしれませんので、ぜひ声をかけてください！お会いできるのを楽しみにしています！

 Hi, nice to meet you!

 My name is Alfie and I come from the UK. I was born and raised in the city of Birmingham,   right in the centre of  England. From August 2025, I’m delighted to start my new role as   Minoh City`s CIR (Coordinator of   International Relations) with the JET Programme. I’ll be   working generally to help promote and strengthen Minoh's international ties. More   specifically, this will include helping with Minoh's International Cooperating City relationship with New Zealand`s Hutt City, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year!

 Since I was very young I have been fascinated with other cultures and languages. This   included Japan, with Japanese movies, video games, technology and cuisine being popular   across the world, including the UK. Having majored in Japanese Studies at university, I had   the privilege of doing an exchange year in Kobe University. Since graduation, I have lived in   both Japan and China as an English conversation teacher and have worked with British   companies and organisations that help promote Japanese culture and businesses in my  home country. I believe the UK and Japan have a long and rich history together and it has been my dream for many years to help deepen these ties. 

As someone that loves hiking, travelling and exploring Japan, Minoh is the perfect town for me. It has a balance of urban and natural landscapes and sits right in the middle of Kansai, my favourite region of Japan! Despite having not been here long, I have received a warm welcome from the city's wonderful community and can already feel Minoh becoming a second home. I'm looking forward to experience all it has to offer - from unrivalled Autumn scenery to delicious craft beer!
