Book inventiry days

FIRST-TIME VISITORS

You can use Minoh City Libraries free of charge.

• Anyone who lives, works, or studies in Minoh City can borrow books from Minoh City Libraries.

• Please fill out an application form and you can get a library card there.  (Please bring something that shows your address such as your driver’s license, insurance card, or mails sent to you, etc.)
  

LIBRARY CARD

• You can use your library card at any Minoh City Library and Mobile Library, “Midori-go”.

• If you lose the library card or you change your address, please contact a Minoh City library. your new card will be issued 2 weeks after your notification. (Before getting a new one, you can borrow books.)
  

 WHEN BORROWING BOOKS

• Please bring  books and your library card to the counter.
• You can borrow up to 20 books for 15days.
  If you don’t return the borrowed books within 29days, you cannot borrow extra books.
  

 

WHEN RETURNING BOOKS

• Please bring books to the returning counter. (You do not need to show your library card.)
• Please return books within the period (15 days). If it is difficult to do so, please contact the Minoh City Libraries. If no one has reserved the books, you can borrow them one more period (15 days).
  Please come or phone a Minoh City Library during open hours to apply to borrow books for one more period(15 days). 
• If the Minoh City Libraries are closed, please put your books in the “book return post slot”.
  
• You can return books at any Minoh City Library or Mobile Library, “Midori-go”.
  

 PRIVACY PROTECTION

 

• The Minoh City Libraries protect your privacy.
• Personal information is not used except for library services.
• The record of the books you have borrowed is cleared when you return them.
  

 IF YOU CAN NOT FIND THE BOOKS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR

 

• Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) Service
• You can search/reserve books by OPAC （search machine）which is installed in Minoh City libraries.
• Get a library card at the library counter and register your password on OPAC in the library or the web site of Minoh City Library
• People over 13 years old who live/study/work in Minoh City can register a password.
• You can confirm your state of borrowing and reserving by OPAC and also you can extend the date of returning books if there are no reservations for them.
• Please fill in a book request form. You can also request books by telephone, fax and internet too.
• You can reserve up to 10 books. You can also request up to 5 books in a day by telephone or fax.
• If the books you are looking for are not in Minoh City Libraries, we will do our best to purchase them or borrow them from other libraries.
  

 COPY SERVICE

You can copy materials (except audiovisual materials), which are in Minoh City Libraries but you may not infringe on the copyright. (10 yen for one page)

AUDIOVISUAL MATERIALS

You can enjoy videos or CDs free of charge in Minoh City Libraries (except Sakuragaoka Library). 

SERVICE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES

• For people with visual impairment
• A librarian or volunteer will read books and library materials to people with visual impairment.
• You can borrow audio books and books in Braille not only from Minoh City Libraries but also from libraries all over Japan.
• For people with weak sight, there are books written in large print.
• We can send books by mail to people who cannot come to the libraries because of some disability.

EVENTS

Each library holds events such as a movie show free of charge.  (Please see Minoh City Library’s homepage, Minoh City’s public relations magazine “MOMIJI DAYORI”, etc.)

 

MOBILE LIBRARY “MIDORI-GO”

• Mobile Library “Midori-go” visits 14 places in Minoh City once every 3 weeks.
• The mobile library visit schedule is in “MOMIJI DAYORI”, Minoh City’s public relations magazine and “JYUNKAI NITTEI NO OSHIRASE”, information schedule.
